Becoming Competition Ready

To make sure your robot is safe to use at Mini Robot Rumble, we will be conducting an inspection of your robot before matches start to make sure it meets all requirements in the Construction Specifications.

A quick summary of the checklist we'll be using is outlined below and we encourage referring back to this (and the Construction Specifications) throughout your design and construction phase of your robot.

General

  1. Robot weighs less than 1.36kg

  2. Robot power can be turned off in less than 60 seconds safely using a manual disconnect (Power Switch supplied in our Essentials Kit)

  3. Power Switch is easily and safely accessible

  4. Power LED is clearly visible at all times

  5. Robot is controlled by a Receiver and Transmitter that is supplied by Mini Robot Ruble or meets the requirements stated in the Construction Specifications

  6. Battery is protected sufficiently to prevent harm from potential damage

  7. All wiring is safe and effort has been made to prevent potential short circuiting

Weapons

  1. A clearly visible Locking Device is used on weapons that can cause damage. Locking Devices must be able to stop the weapon or prevent it from moving dangerously and causing potential harm

  2. Locking Devices must be used at all times when the robot isn't in the arena and must be in place during the robot's power on procedure

  3. Robot doesn't make use of Hydraulics, Internal Combustion Engines, Heat, Fire and other weapon types mentioned in Sections 14 and 15 of the Construction Specifications

  4. Spinning Weapons must be able to come to a stop within 60 seconds of the robot losing power
